MORGAN
Perry, this is Zoey. Zoey and I are good friends.

If Saturday was screaming, excitement, breaking up, vibrators and devil ducks... Sunday was heaviness, miserable lesbians, confusion and sad beauty.

Not captured in a still, was the last scene of the night. An emotionally crushing scene between Morgan and Zoey (Mona Eadington), in Perry's bathroom, in the middle of the night. A scene which left many of us wrecked, not the least Karl Borges, our assistant, who simply kept shaking his head and saying, "That was beautiful.."

Derek, the DP, was operating steady-handheld in the doorway, as Morgan numbly looked at her wrecked and miserable reflection in the mirror. I crouched on the floor of the doorway, looking up at the actors as they worked. I was filled with the hysterical urge to laugh, and when I put my hand over my mouth, my eyes would well up.

This scene will hurt in the most beautiful way.

One distinct pleasure was watching Andrew's dialogue come to life, between the actors. Sometimes I would wonder if this was how he heard it in his head as he wrote it, months ago. Together, he and I are crafting Perry into the most spineless, hollow, shell-of-a-man ever seen onscreen before. Coming home from a date at a goth club, Perry (Andrew) exclaims, "Perversion? -- perverse!" as Morgan stares and asks for the bathroom. Perry knocks on the doorway of his own apartment to attract Morgan's attention, as he tries to open a dialogue about their relationship, like any decent "sensitive guy" in his place would. What he doesn't see is Morgan's teeth grinding at the mere sound of his voice, between sips of vodka. I would go further into detail of Andrew's comic timing and the little touches he found as we worked, but doing so would either be too obscure to appreciate, or would give away turns in the story best left to surprise..

(A special mention to Whitney, and her makeup assistants. Showing you stills of their fantastic work would, unfortunately, reveal too much..)
